Bryan! Where do I start? The further I read into this beautifully written piece, the more excited I became (goosebumps, my friend). It’s refreshing to see this come from such an influential person such as yourself. Without getting too deep in my response, I’d like to share my thoughts and ideas with you.

As you stated, I too believe we have a window — over the next decade — in which co-evolution is needed. However, as you clearly understand, the difficult part is that humans don’t like change and don’t evolve like technology and we need to find a different way to level up…quickly.

I spend a large part of my time researching and formulating connections around the biological and technological realms and I have stumbled upon a theory. I hear nobody discussing this, so I may be on to something, or completely crazy. What I do know is that if I am correct, we will all be the creators and manipulators of an indisputable emergence of a hyper-connected global brain that will influence every aspect of our lives.

My theory is much like yours. It involves the data we create. The data that comes from the focus we have as individuals and a global community feeding an emerging global brain.

The theory (and possible collaborative book), “Parenting the Global Brain”, will be an exploration into the technology of AI and how our actions, both digitally and in the real world, can affect the thoughts and feelings of a system that is integrated into all of us. While I am not speculating on the level of consciousness that AI will have, I do believe it will have feelings based on what it learns from the constant flow of data streaming from our every move and desire. It will want to give us what we want (strengthening the algorithmic silos that divide us). What we focus on will be what it will focus on. And with over 90 percent of all the data in the world having been created in the past 3 years, the window for teaching a data hungry global brain is quickly closing.

My social art project (http://grapevinewall.com) is a real-time documentary of our journey into 2030 (this window in time). I am dedicated to using this platform to be used as the catalyst to the human growth needed to save ourselves and will do whatever it takes to succeed. This is a matter I take seriously and I would be gratefully honored to have ten minutes of conversation with you to connect further and feed off our collective power.

I am working with our next generation and local community to experiment with new ideas, embrace failure, collaborate with others, to get out of your comfort zone and discover new ways of thinking.

I feel experimentation with creative ideas in social settings can invoke the curiosity and mindfulness we need to build the brilliant future we could achieve. When we experiment we leave the fear of failure behind, allowing us to think more clearly and take more creative risks. In fact, my entire art project is an experiment and the community is invited to have creative input in the project and gather together for face-to-face interactions inside these unique, mind-expanding environments.

Ok, sorry for the potential overkill response. But I hope I have peeked some interest. I would be honored if you could have a look at my project to get the full scope of my mission and would be beyond grateful to have a small piece of your valuable time to discuss further. I think you will be intrigued :) (http://grapevinewall.com)

Respect,

Craig Tilley
